loyal carlson

Pastor Emeritus

In July of 1966, Pastor Loyal Carlson and his wife Dixie came to minister to a small country church that would later become Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church. A visionary seeing the need for outreach in the community, Pastor Loyal continued seeing growth in his ministry, and saw the need for Christian education in the community. In 1966, he founded Altamonte Christian School. The school started with kindergarten, with the teachers being Pastor Loyal and his mother, Mabel Carlson. As services grew, so did expansion. In the early 1970's, a new church auditorium was built to accommodate the growing church body of Palm Springs Drive Baptist Church. After nearly 40 years of faithful service to the Lord, Pastor L.W. Carlson retired as Pastor on January 1, 2005.
